Description

Created in the corridors of good ol’ Sweet Auburn, C & C Social House was manifested from a vision to bring back the lively nature of what once was Atlanta’s richly thriving black mecca. “This street means so much to Atlanta. It means so much to us too,” says Joy Christina, owner of C & C Social House.

Our journey on the street began in 2016 when Joy moved her first business, Atlanta Room Escape, into one of the abandoned buildings on the street. She saw something that most couldn’t see: an opportunity to introduce a novel concept in a struggling area with the goal to also introduce the neighborhood to people who might have never come to this side of town. It worked. Surprisingly, many of our customers weren’t familiar with the street and its rich history, so her and her staff began educating them.

Over the years she continued to add more businesses to Auburn Ave. She introduced Axe Throwing Atlanta in 2018 and Clues and Cocktails in 2019. Thousands of people and hundreds of businesses came to enjoy what she had created. Not only were the businesses highly reviewed online but people walked away with a renewed joy for Sweet Auburn.

As the social and economic landscape continues to change in response to the pandemic, our business has changed as well. C & C Social House is the pivot and next phase of Clues and Cocktails. Joy desired to create a space where guests felt comfortable and could “let their hair down” while engaging with others. She knew that comfort rested in familiarity. Therefore, creating an exclusive community that’s grown and cultivated by its patrons helps to alleviate stress and anxiety with being in a social atmosphere because everyone is family.
